Hunt Slonem
Hunt Slonem is a renowned painter celebrated for his singular naturalistic works, often infused with a touch of mysticism. His art seamlessly blends the fantastical with the natural world, where organic forms frequently become central subjects. A defining characteristic of his work is the use of repetition, which he views not just as an homage to Andy Warhol, but as a mantra, a spiritual practice—a form of worship through art.
Slonem’s exploration of color is a hallmark of his style, with his paintings rich in texture and characterized by bold, thick brushstrokes. Since his debut solo exhibition at Fischbach Gallery in 1977, Slonem’s works have been acquired by prestigious institutions such as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Würth Museum, the Miro Foundation, and the New Orleans Museum of Art.
His art has also garnered a significant following among celebrities, with art collections.
